«WIRD STATTFINDEN». My absolute favourite words these days. The last months have been full of postponements, cancellations and suffocating restrictions. More than half of the concerts I was supposed to play this year, have either been moved or called off. The shows in Netherlands and Switzerland were moved to March 2021, and who knows what will happen next summer. But lo and behold! – the Germany concerts this month are still taking place – sie werden stattfinden!
The organisers have taken all the precautions they can. Some of the concerts have been downscaled, some moved outdoors, some have a maximum capacity of just forty people, and we won’t be allowed to dance a lot – but unless something absolutely extraordinary happens now, they WILL TAKE PLACE. <3 We even added an extra show in Cologne, just to celebrate it all.
For those of you living in Norway (hei folkens!), I will also be joining Oslo World Music Festival for a special appearance with The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) at a fundraiser concert for the victims of the explosion in Beirut earlier this year. And for those of you not living in Norway: The concert will be streamed for everyone to hear! A few weeks after that, I’m going north to do a one-night-only Christmas concert with strings from the Arctic Philharmonic in Tromsø.
All that, and a lot more. But first: Off to Germany! I imagine it will be a different kind of tour this time, but I am so much looking forward to seeing people and playing concerts again! Take care, wash your hands, stay sane and sing you soon!
